We didn’t move far – just across the river – but we did move, and we are endeavouring to have that be good for us.
“If I am an advocate for anything, it is to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river.” – Anthony Bourdain
I found this quote recently while thinking about the move of our Agathe Center for Entrepreneurship offices from one side of the Danube River in Bratislava to the other.
I think we can infer a few things as to why the late Anthony Bourdain advocated moving. Among them, it stretches you and challenges you to assess, tires you out and energizes you, it stimulates you and numbs you all at the same time. In short, if you embrace it, it helps you grow.
Sorting through challenges brought on by a pandemic and a war across the border and hundreds of thousands of refugees having crossed that border, a move across the river is a relatively small thing. But it’s not just one more thing. Rather it’s an opportunity to re-focus, re-set, and re-engage for even more effective service. We are embracing it.
So, if you should be so moved, join us in being thankful for the provision of new offices. We didn’t move far – just across the river – but we did move, and we are endeavouring to have that be good for us.
