An entrepreneur can have the best of ideas. They can have a clear vision of how that idea translates into an enterprise. They can craft an outstanding business plan that lays out clearly how that vision will become a reality. They can be willing to give all their personal capacity and energy to the execution of the plan. But this will all just sit on the shelf without one essential ingredient – CAPITAL. It is an essential component in starting a business. It is the resource that allows a business to acquire the infrastructure, equipment, inventory, and talent needed to launch and to sustain operations.
Some might say that capital is the easy part if you have a great idea, a great vision, a great plan, and a great commitment. At the Agathe Center for Entrepreneurship, we would not disagree with that. Great projects usually attract the capital they need. But it is a process. It does not happen by accident.
Much of our work at the Agathe Center focuses on helping entrepreneurs move through the stages that get their projects to the point of being “investment ready.” It often takes hundreds of hours to get there. Every entrepreneur’s journey is different, but common to all is the confidence that is built as all the effort validates the potential for good outcomes and a satisfying return on capital.
For those entrepreneurs who do the hard work of progressing from great idea to investment ready, we are happy to assist in connecting their great projects to potential capital sources. We value our relationships with impact investors who desire to see their capital invested in projects that make a difference, which do good. They, like us, never want to see a great idea, vision, and plan on the shelf.
A project worthy and investment ready should have the blessing of the essential component of capital and the world should have the blessing of great ideas brought to reality that do good.
